Our client, a leader in connecting communities easily to their energy supply choices and striving for net zero, is seeking a Senior Regulatory Advisor to join their high-performing team. You will be responsible for over-seeing their five-year revenue proposal valued at more than $9.5 billion to the Australian Energy Regulator, and advising senior management on complex regulatory matters.

As a Senior Regulatory Advisor, you will play a key role in developing regulatory strategy and identifying regulatory risks while seeking to optimise regulatory outcomes. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of industry-leading customer engagement workshops and focus groups and communicate key regulatory developments and initiatives to the business.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Take a leading role in the development of, and regulatory strategy underpinning, the revenue proposal to the AER
- Provide timely briefings for management on emerging regulatory issues and their likely impact on strategic and commercial priorities e.g. climate resilience, community batteries, and renewable energy zones
- Identify regulatory risks and develop and recommend strategies to respond to these risks by seeking to optimise the regulatory outcomes
- Contribute to developing industry leading customer engagement workshops and focus groups
- Communicate key regulatory developments and initiatives to the business including the impact of those initiatives
- Work collaboratively and consultatively with internal and external stakeholders to prepare submissions and reports for management approval

- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as foster strong stakeholder relationships
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment where you must plan and prioritise.
- Adaptable, agile, and work well in a collaborative work group
- Detail orientated with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of the key national energy reform issues in the Australian energy market and their implications for regulated network businesses
- Experience in advising senior management on strategic policy and regulatory issues
- Experience in preparing written submissions and presenting at public forums and negotiating workable outcomes with external stakeholders
