**The Role**
Within the Business Support function, the APS 5 Business Support Officer is accountable to the Branch Business Manager under broad direction to perform and achieve recruitment, workforce-planning current - futures and business support to APS 6 Finance and Business Managers. They will require an in-depth knowledge of workforce and recruitment frameworks and business acumen within Defence, its mission and policy requirements.

This role requires the occupants to have the following capabilities:

- Demonstrated ability to coordinate, manage and report on activities.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills to logically convey thoughts and ideas.
- Keen sense of attention for detail encompassing a methodological approach.
- Demonstrated capability to achieve effective outcomes with little guidance.
- Strong skill sets in analysing, synthesising, presenting logical reporting, and present associated recruitment documentation for promotions, on boarding and advice for approval.
- Experience in business support environments (models, tools, financial packages) is desirable.
- Ability to work in a fluid environment, remaining flexible, agile and adaptable supporting colleagues at short notice. **About our Team**
Navy Engineering Branch is looking for a high performing, experienced Business Support Manager to be a part of their small but dynamic Business Team. The Directorate of Professional Engineering and Governance (DPEG) within Navy Engineering Branch is responsible for the business administration and governance of the Branch and supporting the professionalisation of the Navy Engineering workforce.
