The aim of this role is to work closely with other leaders in Queensland and nationally to grow the ecology team and build Arup’s capability in ecology; in transport, water, waste and renewable energy projects.
**The Opportunity**
- **Spearhead the Growth and Innovation of Our Queensland Ecology Team**: Take the helm in expanding our ecology division in Queensland, driving technical excellence and strategic growth.
- **Lead High-Impact, Complex Ecology Projects**: Oversee and deliver major ecology projects, ensuring seamless coordination of teams, resources, and facilities across tight timelines and budgets, with opportunities to support similar initiatives nationwide.
- **Cultivate and Empower the Next Generation of Ecologists**: Lead the development of talent within our Queensland team by mentoring and empowering ecologists, driving their growth and performance through expert guidance, training, and inspiration.
- **Collaborate Closely with Business Leaders to Secure High-Profile Projects**: Work hand-in-hand with top-level management to win key contracts, contributing to both ecology-focused and multi-disciplinary proposals that shape our success.
- **Champion Client Relations and Represent Arup on a National Stage**: Take ownership of building and maintaining strong client relationships in Queensland and beyond, acting as the face of Arup in both regional and national arenas.
**Is this role right for you?**
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Botany, Zoology, Marine/aquatic sciences, Environmental Science or related discipline.
- 15 + years of relevant industry experience in major transport and infrastructure projects and/renewable energy projects within a consulting or government business environment.
- Suitably Qualified Professional (SQP) status for protected plants surveys in Queensland seen favourably but not mandatory.
- Relevant industry experience undertaking field work in the area of terrestrial or marine/aquatic ecology.
