**About Melbourne Eyecare Clinic**

The Melbourne Eyecare Clinic (MEC) engages the postgraduate students from the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences to provide comprehensive eyecare services under the supervision of leading optometric practitioners in Melbourne. Services provided at our clinic include:

- Diabetic, glaucoma and macular degeneration assessment and screening
- Myopia management and myopia control treatments
- Contact lens care including specialty contact lens services
- Occupational eye care and comprehensive colour vision assessments
- Paediatric and binocular vision services
- General optometric care

Melbourne Eyecare Clinic also carries a wide range of designer and budget frames for men, women, and children. All types of contact lenses, including soft, rigid, and orthokeratology designs, are fitted.

**About the Role**
We are currently seeking a Dispensing Manager for a part-time (0.8 FTE) position in our Melbourne Eyecare Clinic (MEC). In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the Clinic Director with day-to-day operations. Your responsibilities will encompass managing and contributing to high-quality, efficient clinical practice, and patient care. This involves implementing and overseeing processes to enhance clinic efficiency, as well as providing leadership and mentorship to a team of optical dispensers and administrative staff.

Collaboration with the Clinic Director is key, as you work together to optimise workforce utilisation and productivity levels. Your role will extend to assisting clinicians in delivering direct patient care in alignment with the Clinic’s standards and policies, ensuring the provision of exceptional eyecare services and patient support.

**About you**
**Essential Selection Criteria**
- Relevant qualifications (certificate IV) in optical dispensing and / or experience working as an optical dispenser.
- Demonstrated experience leading a team, including supporting and coordinating the day-to-day operations, financial and human resource aspect of a busy practice.
- Previous experience working within a fast-paced eyecare clinic with the ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively train students in the technical skills associated with optical dispensing and / or a willingness to do so.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence with the ability to relate to a diverse range of people at all levels within and outside the organisation.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills including all key Microsoft Office products, including Excel, as well as competency in using an optometry patient management system (ie. ’Sunix’ or ‘Optomate’).
