Our client based in Sydney is currently seeking Emergency Medicine Registrars to join their team.

**THE POSITION**:
**THE HOSPITAL**:
The Hospital is a 480-bed facility catering to a population of around 263,000. The Emergency Department has 50 beds including 11 short stay beds, 20 general and cardiothoracic ICU beds, 14 fully equipped theatres, including hybrid theatres, two cardiac catheter labs and 4 procedure rooms and a state-of-the-art education and interactive SIM centre.

The Emergency Department sees over 70,000 patients per annum with approximately 25% paediatric age group. The department has a diverse and interesting case mix of patients.

The department is accredited for 12 months of advanced training in emergency medicine with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, including accreditation for the paediatric requirement and the exam preparation program has a high success rate.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES, ACTIVITIES, AND DUTIES**:

- Be responsible for immediate patient care including adequate history taking, physical examination, ongoing continuous review of patient condition and progress, investigations and therapy indicated by unit protocol or as directed by the duty specialist.
- Perform specialised procedures at the direction and under supervision of the duty specialist.
- Prepare material for the hospital’s clinical presentations, teaching sessions and mortality/morbidity reviews as directed.
- Develop and progress a project related to research, education, or quality.
- Provide leadership and promote a commitment to high quality customer service principles, practices, and attributes.
- Take responsibility for supervising clinical duties of residents, medical officers, and interns.

**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- Eligible for registration as a medical practitioner with APRHA.
- Experience as an Emergency Registrar or Snr Registrar
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster including weekends, nights, and public holidays.
- Evidence of involvement in continuing medical education.
- Proven reliability in work within personal level of expertise and seeking assistance as needed from senior staff.
