Woollahra Council has an exciting opportunity for an ethusiastic Bush Regeneration Trainee to join our Open Space & Trees team for a fixed term contract until 2027 on a full-time basis.

In this entry-level role, you will develop skills, knowledge and experience associated with Bush Regeneration under the guidance and supervision of experienced Bush Regeneration team members. The position will require you to undertake a broad range of tasks related to Horticulture in a safe and efficient manner and contribute to key delivery areas for the Open Space and Trees department.

In addition to on-the-job training, you will be required to complete a Certificate III in Conservation and Ecosystem Management. The theoretical component of this Traineeship is delivered in a face-to-face environment and you must be able to undertake the relevant studies at the Ryde TAFE Campus, for one day per week, commencing 3 February 2025

To be successful in this role, you will be a self-motivated individual that is passionate about developing a career in Bush Regeneration. You will be a team-player that is willing to learn and get your hands dirty in this hands-on role.

To be eligible for this position you must have completed a School Certificate or Higher School Certificate, and not have previously completed any tertiary qualifications in Conservation and Ecosystem Management.

**Essential Criteria**

- **Has not previously completed a qualification in Bush Regeneration or related field.****:
- **Class C Driver’s Licence (P1 Licence also acceptable).****:
- **Demonstrated basic knowledge in and a genuine interest to pursue a career in Bush Regeneration.****:
- **Strong willingness to learn and the ability to successfully complete a Certificate III in Bush Regeneration on a full time basis over a period of 24 months.****:
- **Well-developed communication and numeracy skills.****:
- **Commitment to providing excellent customer service.****:
- **Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.****:
- **Physically fit and able to complete allocated manual handling tasks as outlined in section Eight (8) of the Position Description.****:
- **Commitment to WHS and EEO policies.***
