**About the Team**

The software team is a diverse group of engineers passionate about delivering high quality products to our important customers. Software development occurs primarily at MILVEHCOE, our state-of-the art facility in Redbank Queensland, but also at our engineering offices in Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane (Fortitude Valley). This role can be based out of Brisbane, Melbourne or Adelaide locations.

**About the Role**

The Manager, Software Development is responsible for developing and maintaining the people, processes and tools required to design, develop, integrate and verify software elements within the Vehicle Systems Division. Part of this role requires ability to demonstrate leadership, a high level of independence, the ability to communicate complex ideas to a diverse audience and conflict management and resolution.

- **Manager, Software Development**, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

- Develop and maintain a software development environment that meets the needs of the various programs underway within RDA;
- Manage software development resources, including workload and resource needs in liaison with HR;
- Establish the execution methodologies for software development;
- Managing and maintaining software and development tools for the software development team;
- Developing and maintaining software development processes within the Integrated Management System;
- Enforcing adherence to the Cybersecurity controls developed from Information Security Manual;
- Enforcing a common execution methodology across the various programs; and
- Mentor assigned and other less experienced staff.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

- Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent;
- Previous leadership roles in software development;
- Experience participating in an established Agile software development environment;
- Experience with embedded electronics systems
- Experience with virtualisation;
- Experience working in ASDEFCON programs (desirable);
- Experience in interpreting engineering function and performance specifications, and identifying technical solutions to meet these specifications;
- Experience in gaining security accreditation of CoA SECRET classified systems;
- Experience working with CoA Security Accreditation Trusted Agents;
- Ability to travel internationally and interstate, when required; and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance - Negative Vetting 1 (MUST hold Australian Citizenship).
