At Gracie Barra Castle Hill, the Head Coach is responsible for driving and building the BJJ program and to ensure a positive customer experience aligned with our Gracie Barra mission of _teaching students excellence through the art of Jiu-jitsu. We will help them to build the strength and resilience to achieve their goals on and off the mats. We will always strive to be a world class team, competing around the world at the highest level. We will always foster a family-friendly environment that welcomes and nurtures anyone who wants to train Jiu-jitsu. _
This leader is responsible for delivering great member service, Private/Small Group Training & supporting the revenue goals of the Academy. As the Leader and Head BJJ Coach you will be responsible for recruiting other BJJ coaches and participating in community events to drive awareness of the Gracie Barra program. This position requires availability on weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Management and Oversight of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program
Manage and assist with the BJJ program at the club location
Responsible for coordinating Gracie Barra Castle Hill Kids,Juniors and Adult programs
Track BJJ Program/classes and provide recommendations for ongoing improvement
Assist with selling Gracie Barra Castle Hill memberships
Ensure instructors are following class curriculum, format and regulations including any NSW Govt Covid19 stipulations Organize and promote Gracie Barra belt promotions ensuring instructors are following the stripe and belt promotion system
Issue stripes to students that qualify and recommend students that are ready to test/be promoted Attend the monthly meetings and conference calls with Academy stakeholders
Sales Execution on Key Metrics
Ensure accurate administration of client programs, measurement tracking and BJJ programs.
Arrives on time, prepared and attentive for training appointments.
Assist in all revenue generating activities, including but not limited to: complimentary workouts, seminars, workshops, apparel etc.
Member Experience
Focus on changing lives through member experiences with SJJA Hornsby Academy
Be a brand ambassador of SJJA Hornsby Academy and its “Built under pressure” philosophy Conduct safe and effective group and private BJJ training sessions
Maintain the organization, cleanliness and neat presentation of the mat area, change rooms and training spaces at all times.
Personal cleanliness is to be of the highest standard as it sets the benchmark for the Academy, its students and guests.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
In depth knowledge of BJJ techniques from assessment to program design.
Possess a working knowledge of the Academy Analytics program and software.
Knowledge of company policies, practices and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Able to generate, maintain and demonstrate a friendly, enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Possess a strong customer service focus. Responds professionally to requests and inquiries from guests, members and staff.
Communicates clearly and concisely.
Possesses strong organizational skills. Understands basic record keeping practices and procedures. Demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
Experience operating office equipment such as computers, ipads etc.
Must be computer proficient with basic skills in Word and Excel.
Engaging/Self motivator/Customer service minded
Required Experience:
BJJ Black Belt from a recognised Association
BJJ Belt Certificate
BJJ lineage verification
Grappling tournament record (preferred)
First Aid certificate
Current CPR/AED certification
Minimum 4 years of related teaching experience
A NSW Working With Children Check
**Salary**: From $71,000.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38 per week
