On this occasion, we have partnered with one of Australia's largest Councils, based rather handily on the South side of Brisbane, to assist with a high-priority vacancy in their organisational Health and Wellbeing program.

We are seeking the assistance of a Principal OH&S Advisor to join the existing team for an initial 3 month contract which we are extremely hopeful of continuing into something much longer. If past experience counts for anything, the chances of this happening are very high indeed.

In this key role, you will be responsible for:

- Championing Logan City Council’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy, Systems and Analytics.
- Provision of strategic, innovative and accountable leadership to the Strategy, Systems & Analytics Team to ensure that Council achieves its goals and performance targets in relation to Health, Safety and Wellbeing.
- Providing strategic, contemporary, evidence-based advice and support to the Health Safety & wellbeing Program Leader and the People and Culture Manager
- Development and delivery of the HS&W Program vision and direction whilst effectively engaging with key stakeholders and internal client groups to ensure the HS&W Program responds to demands and identifies opportunities to improve the effectiveness of HS&W across Council.
- Overseeing the development of HS&W program initiatives, whilst providing outstanding leadership in identifying emerging health, safety and wellbeing issues, developing appropriate policies, systems and procedures and maintaining the Health Safety & Wellbeing Management System.

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in work health and safety, or a related relevant field, or significant experience in a similar role

2. Detailed knowledge of current Work Health & Safety and Worker's Compensation and Rehabilitation legislation, regulations, codes, standards and guidelines.

3. Accredited WHS Auditor qualification.

4. ICAM or similar lead investigator training.

5. Certificate IV Training and Assessment. Certificate IV Project Management (highly desirable)

6. Ability to lead and facilitate WHS strategic planning, change management and governance.

7. Sound working knowledge in leading investigations, audits, policy development, systems management and strategy objectives.

8. Strong project management and reporting skills Knowledge of National Self Insurer WHS Audit Tool (highly desirable)

9. Knowledge of design thinking and agile methodologies (highly desirable)
