**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you are a member of a team responsible for the delivery of finance business partnering services to support decision making across EPA.

This is an exciting role for a finance professional who wants to contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria. You will be an integral part of the team that strives for high quality outputs and continuous improvement in a challenging work environment.

**In this role you will**:

- Work under the direction of the Financial Planning and Analysis to deliver budgeting, financial management, enterprise strategy and planning, integrity and risk management, performance reporting, project management and support services aligned to EPA’s strategic priorities.
- Be involved in continuous improvement projects for systems and processes.
- Be responsible for managing and analysing multiple financial datasets, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues with your strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and competing priorities effectively.
- Contribute towards the uplift of capability in budget and financial management across the EPA through provision of relevant, timely and high-quality advice and outputs to support decision making.
- Support the monthly internal reporting process through completion of manual accrual postings, reconciliations, month end tasks and variance analysis.
- Assist in building reporting enhancements using Technology One.
- Build knowledge of EPA’s strategic and regulatory priorities and performance objectives to assist in the development and preparation of EPA’s annual budget, quarterly forecasting and input into State Government Budget processes.

**Skills and Experience**:

- A Bachelor of Commerce and/or Accounting is essential for this role.
- A professional qualification as a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a financial analyst role.
- Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated ability to create Excel models.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly (Technology-One experience is desirable)
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills with critical thinking.
- Ability to work independently with remote supervision.
