We are seeking a passionate and innovative Cultural Mentor to support the Australian Government-funded Connected Beginnings initiative in the Playford and Salisbury Catchment.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Support the Project Manager and Community Liaison Officer in facilitating community engagement activities.
- Establish and maintain connections with reference groups and foster the inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representatives in local advisory and working groups.
- Provide sound cultural advice to all stakeholders regarding culturally appropriate practice in the delivery of an integrated early childhood service system.
- Identify and communicate gaps, needs and solutions for families to engage with health, education, and family services.

**Desirable qualifications, skills, and knowledge**:

- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- Existing relationships with a range of stakeholders in the local and regional area.
- Understanding of children’s services, funding, and gaps in current service delivery environments.
- Knowledge and experience of the collective impact approach.

**Special Conditions**:
Please note that department employees working in high-risk environments are required to maintain up-to-date vaccination against COVID-19, with a TGA Approved Vaccine. Vaccination status must be disclosed and provided for sighting on request.

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
