**About the role**:
Expressions of interest are now open for a Work Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Trainee to join the Ahrens team.
This is an entry level position, perfect for someone just coming out of high school looking to begin their career; or for a professional looking at a career change. In this position, you will be a true generalist in your support role to the HSQE function of the business, allowing you to learn the fundamentals of Health, Safety, Environment & Quality within the manufacturing and construction industry.

**Key Responsibilities of this role include**:
- Work with the Group HSQE team to maintain and control the company HSQE Management Systems
- Ensure health, safety and environment information and records are entered and appropriately filed on company electronic databases and systems.
- Support the HSQE team in identfying training needs, maintain a national training matrix and organise and facilitate WHS training and verification of employee competency as required.
- Assist in project pre-planning to ensure project procedures and specifications reflect WHS and environmental factors.
- Maintain safety and general noticeboards with up to date and relevant information.
- Work with supervisors and managers to improve Safe Operating Procedures and plant and equipment management.
- Support operational teams with HSQE activities and initiatives on permanent and temporary sites
- Provide first aid treatment where required Support the development and implementation of new HSQE programs and training initiatives
**Essential Criteria**:
- Formal qualifications in WHS practices (or currently working towards);
- Construction Industry White Card;
- Effective written and oral communication skills including skills in negotiating, developing and managing cooperative working relationships and resolving issues by reporting and negotiating;
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel;
- Flexibility to travel and visit project sites and Ahrens Divisions across Australia if required;
- Applied First Aid competency; Current driver’s license;
