Brisbane, Australia Queensland Audit Office Full time

The role
A QAO undergraduate position is an opportunity to start a rewarding and versatile professional services career in a close-knit and supportive team.
We are looking for committed university students to join our Undergraduate Auditor program. You have a choice of commencing in October 2023 or February 2024. The program offers the opportunity to work part-time, gain valuable experience while studying towards your degree, and receive dedicated mentoring, training, and support.
As an Undergraduate Auditor, and depending on your discipline, you will assist teams with the completion of financial and assurance audits, information systems audits, or the implementation of data analytics solutions for our clients.
About the Queensland Audit Office
On behalf of the Auditor-General, we provide insights to hundreds of state and local government clients on how to deliver better public services for Queenslanders. As the state's independent auditor, we are vital to Queensland's integrity system, giving parliament and the public trusted assurance.
We use some of the most contemporary practices in today's professional services industry to:

- deliver high quality financial, assurance, and information systems services
- give public sector entities insights on their performance, risks, and financial management
- report to parliament on the results of our work
- investigate financial waste and mismanagement
- share best practice across our client base and industry.

Working at QAO
Innovation, teamwork, and relationships are at the heart of what we do. We invest in advanced audit capabilities with integrated analytics and information systems audits. Other benefits include:

- a starting fulltime equivalent salary of $59,450 (2023 rate) plus superannuation
- travel throughout Queensland with your colleagues when performing client visits
- Brisbane based with flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance
- state of the art technology to enable you to work in head office, at client sites or at home
- active social club organising events throughout the year.

You must be available to work a minimum of 21.75 hours a week. You can choose to work across three or more days from Monday-Friday, depending on your university timetable.
Who can apply
- Be an Australian or New Zealand Citizen/Permanent Resident, or have permanent working rights within Australia
- Be studying at an Australian university in an appropriate tertiary qualification accounting, commerce, business, data science, information technology, information systems, mathematics/statistics, public policy or management.
- You must be scheduled to complete your undergraduate level study by the end of 2024.
- You should provide a copy of your Curriculum Vitae (CV) and your academic transcript. A cover letter is optional (it is not a requirement).

As part of the final stages of the selection process, you must also provide 2 professional referees. You should start thinking about who you would like to ask to complete a referee report as the panel will want to hear from your recent supervisors/managers and your most recent employer.
