Support Worker Wanted in the Wollongong area
An opportunity exists for an outgoing and creative person that truly enjoys the time that they spend with people in need of care and support. Please note that all applicants will be required to address the Job Role Criteria Question list in a cover letter and provide a recent resume/cv.
Every Human support staff must;
- Be dependable, reliable and punctual.
- Have a professional attitude and good work ethics
- Deliver thorough reports and have good time management skills
- Able to work independently and communicate with management
This position is a **Casual Position starting with 6-20 hours per week with an hourly rate of roughly $33-36 per hour with the potential for more hours and pay increase after the initial trial period. **This is based on the SCHADS Award.
For this essential position you must have the following:
- Working With Children Check
- Police check
- NDIS Worker screening check
- 100 points of ID
- First Aid and CPR
- NDIS Orientation Modules
- Orientation and Effective Communication
- Infection control certificate
- **Experience with Mental Health and Autism preferred but not mandatory**
**Job Role Criteria**
As a support worker you will be required to provide care and support to participants who will benefit from your experience and enthusiasm:
- What experience and understanding do you have of person centered support?_
As a team member, you will be required to support participants by observing and implementing current protocols. These are continually being redeveloped to provide the best practices to ensure each participant is cared for at a high standard:
- What experience and understanding do you have in Mealtime management and Behaviour support plans?_
While supporting a participant, you will be required to collaborate with associates and team members as well as management:
- What experience and understanding do you have with providing notes of evidence based documents?_
As a responsible support person, you will be providing individual personal care. That may include toileting, catheter care and bowel care: _What experience and understanding do you have with personal care?_
As a support worker, you must be confident and competent with all personal care requirements. You will have an excellent understanding of hygiene practices for providing all toileting, meal prep and social activities:
- What experience and understanding do you have of infection control?_
As a support worker you may need to administer or monitor medications:
- What experience and understanding do you have of medication administration?_
As a support person, you may be required to listen and advise. You are not expected to have all the answers however you will need to relate to the participant and follow reporting protocols:
- What experience and understanding do you have in dealing with complex situations? _
Some participants require special accessible vehicles and at times can become very distracting.
- What experience do you have in providing safe driving?_
