**The Role**

Our Queensland Government client is currently seeking a Principal Human Resources Specialist for this HR Generalist position, working in a small close knit team.

The Principal Human Resources Specialist will contribute HR specialist knowledge and advice to assist with delivery of high quality services and/or projects and strategies. Responsibilities include:

- Drive business group compliance with governance policy, legislation, standards, and statutory requirements within scope of responsibility.
- Deliver quality service provision in HR by writing, reviewing, and updating relevant planning documents such as workforce management plans and communication resources such as guidance documents and information sharing platforms.
- Prepare HR reports, submissions and correspondence requiring specialist expertise and nuanced advice of a complex nature.
- Promote a positive performance culture and drive a culture of continuous improvement working in close collaboration with HR specialists advocating best practice HR into business-as-usual procedures.
- Drive Collaboration to build strong partnerships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to staff and organisational capability development by sharing own specialist knowledge via coaching and mentoring.
- Recommend evidence-based solutions, based on expert options analysis to address identified challenges and risks related to recruitment, entitlements, conditions of employment, redundancy and retrenchment including budgetary impacts.
- Assist to develop and implement strategic initiatives aimed at building a positive team culture including around health, safety, and well-being of the workforce.

- A relevant qualification in HR/employee relations would be well regarded.
