ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be directly assisting in all areas of our retail and e-commerce operations, as well as playing a crucial role in the internal workings of the business, including admin, marketing, copywriting and website maintenance. This is a casual position. After the initial three-month trial period, you will be offered a roster scheduled for 3-4 days a week, with the possibility to move to part time. Pay will be discussed based on your skillset and experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Internal Operations

A large part of your role will involve the internal workings of the business, including day-to-day administrative tasks, inventory control, copywriting, website maintenance, marketing and communications,, as well as some image editing and design work.

This will include, though is not limited to:

- Website and point of sale entry and organisation of artworks ahead of exhibitions.
- Designing and generating electronic direct mail to subscribers and collectors.
- Creating content and managing presence on social media.
- Regular maintenance of our online store and website, as well as general online presence.
- Writing and editing content for press releases, exhibitions and associated artists.

Customer Service and Retail

This role is based on the shop floor and will require exceptional customer service as well as timely execution of day-to-day retail responsibilities. This is a fast-paced and dynamic role. We regularly receive a high volume of foot traffic, customer queries and online orders that need to be packed and shipped. As each day in the gallery can be different, you will need to be highly adaptable and organised. You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to prioritise and multitask. The confidence to work in a physically active role is crucial with the requirement to handle large artworks, boxes and packing pieces for web orders as a regular part of the role.

ABOUT YOU

Essential Criteria
- Flexibility, agility and excitement about working in a fast-paced environment where everyone wears many hats.
- Exceptional, detail-oriented copywriting and/or editing skills, requiring mínimal editing and creating sophisticated, engaging on-brand content.
- Experience with image editing, graphic design and the Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Fluency across online platforms and digital spaces, including point of sale systems, cloud based inventory management software and social media.
- Adept multitasking and adapting to a busy work environment, often learning on the go and juggling a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
- Impeccable planning, organisational and administrative skills.
- Professionalism and warmth when communicating with customers, artists, and suppliers.
- An innate understanding of the philosophy behind the gallery and a passion for the artists that we show.
- Motivation to undertake daily physical tasks with enthusiasm, care and efficiency - handling framed artwork, packing orders, hanging artworks, climbing ladders, unpacking large deliveries and cleaning.
- Must be available to work weekends.

You must be an Australian Permanent Resident and/or have the Right to Work in Australia.

Desired Skills & Experience
- Experience with social media scheduling software and the Meta Business Suite.
- Previous experience in retail and e-commerce platforms, e.g. CIN7, Shopify, Mailchimp, Lightspeed.
- Basic HTML and CSS literacy.
