**The Position**
- Position Title: Specialist Family Violence Advisor
- Classification: NP75 - NP 77, YC46 - YC49, YB24 - YB27, PL1 - PL4
- Salary per hour (exc. super): $49.42 - $58.63
- Hours per fortnight: 80 (including ADO)
- Employment Status: Fixed-term
- Other requirements: COVID-19 Vaccination

**Role Description**
- The Specialist Family Violence Advisor in Mental Health Services is part of the government response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence. The position is part of the Mental Health Professional Development team and works closely with the Strengthening Hosptail Resposnes to Family Violence program and sector partners to promote consistency and improve services and system responses to family violence.

**The Team**
- The Professional Development Unit (PDU) aims to provide professional development programs and supervision to Mental Health clinicians and students at Bendigo Health. Programs delivered assist clinicians in the effective delivery of quality clinical services by aiming to improve knowledge, skills & attitudes consistent with: best practice, National Standards for Mental Health Services, National Practice Standards for the Mental Health Workforce and Service development requirements.

**Selection Criteria**
- Essential : A degree in social work, nursing or a related discipline with AHPRA Registration or authorised professional registration as either: a Division 1 Nurse with undergraduate specialisation or with a post graduate qualification in Mental Health, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Social Work.
- Essential : Minimum 5 years of experience working in family violence and/or mental health services with a good knowledge of the sectors and a working understanding of relevant legislation and risk assessment frameworks pertaining to mental health and family violence.
- Essential : A significant understanding of family violence including: the gendered and systemic issues affecting women and children, the perpetrators’ pattern of coercive control and the impact on children.
- Essential : Knowledge of the specialist family violence service system and the broader sector including child protection, and approaches employed to restore and enhance safe child-centred parenting, and a willingness and ability to engage with services working with perpetrators of family violence.
- Essential : Understanding of systems and driving organisational change with experience in inter-agency liaison, consultation and building partnerships with key stakeholders with effective negotiation and problem solving skills in a multidisciplinary cross sector environment.
