Strategic Planning and Policy Officer

**The role**
An opportunity exists in our business for a competent and capable person with a demonstrated policy and planning background to assist with developing and implementing our business strategic plans and policies, with a focus on people satisfaction (including workplace satisfaction), for business expansion and diversification.
The position will be based in our Waurn Ponds office and you will report to the Chief Executive Officer. You will be responsible for:
- Developing and publishing Bevmarks strategic plans and policies (both short term and long term) based on our vision and mission statements with a focus on relationships and people wellbeing.
- Conducting policy research on the effect of workplace (and wellbeing) policies on productivity and business growth and advising and recommending policy and programs required for people satisfaction including employee culture and workforce satisfaction.
- Investigating and studying international and national wellbeing situations and particular features such as employee and customer groups.
- Analysing interrelationships between customers, employees and employers and their effects on workplace satisfaction and analysing trends and issues to formulate recommendations, polices and plans for business growth.
- Implementing processes, systems, and procedures to achieve strategic goals and monitor achievements of plan targets and programs by establishing activity measures and measures of accountability.
- Designing, conducting, and overseeing customer and employee satisfaction surveys and reports and forecasting changes in economic conditions, particularly in the labour market environment for long term business planning.
- Collaborating and liaising effectively with relevant stakeholders including to identify other relevant research areas in consultation with relevant stakeholders and as desired by the leadership and the Board to formulate business plans and policies, with consideration to relevant legislative matters.
- Participating in departmental meetings, seminars and workshops to discuss policy matters.
- Representing Bevmarks in negotiations, conventions, public hearings and forums to discuss policy issues, where required.
- Conducting SWOT analysis, stakeholder analysis and other relevant analysis in consultation with board members and stakeholders.
**About you and essential experience required**
- Completed a masters degree or Ph.D in policy development a related field, or have at least five (5) year’s of relevant experience working as a policy and planning manager/officer.
- A demonstrated aptitude for research in economic issues and policies especially related to employee and people wellbeing.
- written and developed research papers and/or plans and policies and must provide copies of these materials.
- Strong ability to process large amounts of information, interpret and analyse data and then transforming it into recommendations and policy for our business.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to provide creative solutions to problems.
- Strong leadership skills with a high level of self-motivation and initiative and can be flexible in response to changing work priorities.
- An ability to undertake independent research with mínimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders and to work co-operatively in a multi-cultured team environment in a courteous and inclusive manner.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and set and meet deadlines and maintaining accurate research records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to technical and non-technical audiences, to write policies and plans, and provide recommendations to the board, and presenting research results, policies and plans at conferences and to the board members and internal forums.
- Knowledge of, and experience in, Stata or SPSS for empirical analysis is preferred.
