**About Senami**

At Senami Counselling and Psychotherapy Services, we aim to support community cohesiveness by providing supports for the most vulnerable members of our community. We demonstrate and show respect and integrity, collaborating to assist our clients to achieve their goals. We have continuously built on our experience, skills, and qualifications focusing on excellent customer service and developing a great team. We are looking for experienced and competent disability workers to join our NDIS support team on a causal basis in the Adelaide northern suburbs. Preferably you will be enthusiastic and motivated, willing to work independently or in a small team, and have experience working with people with challenging behaviours and following behaviour support plans.

You will need to deliver professional, person centred care and positive behaviour support across a variety of shifts including overnights. Daily tasks include supporting clients with school work, skills development, transport, community access, social support, recreational activities and daily cooking and cleaning tasks.

To successfully secure the position, it is essential that you:

- Are willing to work with clients, providing them with support and helping them to achieve their potential. The primary focus of work at Senami is on the personal, social, cultural and educational development of clients.
- Understand and acknowledge duty of confidentiality to ensure they will not at any time disclose to any unauthorized person confidential information of the employing organisation which comes to their knowledge during the course of their employment.
- Ability to work sensitively and professionally with people, family/community or support networks.
- Undertake all relevant administration duties, including accurate documentation of all relevant client information, case notes and program outcomes.
- Empowering youths and giving them opportunities that they would otherwise miss out on. Provide help, support, mentoring and guidance to clients.
- Organise and participate in activities with clients by working directly with them on their personal issues, assessing their needs, listening to their problems, establishing goals, mentoring them and supporting them through tough times.
- Organising community-based projects, which provide clients with avenues to express themselves, raise concerns and discuss their aspirations.
- Maintain all assets consistent with Work Health and Safety regulations. Ensure all equipment is cleaned, accounted for and locked away in designated area after each use.

**Applicants should be**:

- Flexible with availability to work some weekends and overnights
- Experienced working independently
- Have a current DCSI working with children and vulnerable people checks
- Have an NDIS worker’s check
- Have a valid Police Check
- Have a current full unrestricted Driver’s License
- Have own transport
- Have a current first aid certificate
- Medication Administration certificate
- Have qualifications in youth work, disability work, community services or a related field
- Experienced working with people with challenging behaviours.

**Desirable**:

- always be reliable, punctual and hardworking
- are able to work unsupervised
- be able to handle physical work
- have a positive attitude
- have eye for detail, as only high quality work is acceptable
- have a good sense of humour
- have good time management skills
- have good communication skills
- are available to work flexible hours [including some Saturdays, some evenings and some early mornings]
