As a Tenancy Advisor, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advice and support to tenants, ensuring they understand their tenancy rights and responsibilities and achieve their goal of sustaining their tenancy.
We are currently seeking a proactive and compassionate individual to join our Rent Right SA team based at our **Kent Town Head office**.
Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Working within the Service Delivery Model for SYC’s Tenancy Services to achieve outcomes specified in funding contracts and within program guidelines.
- Responding to incoming telephone and online inquiries.
- Providing clients with the information, coaching and empowerment needed to enable them to self-manage in the first instance.
- Conducting targeted financial, tenancy and risk/vulnerability assessments of clients to establish their housing needs and goals.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, internal and external to SYC, and stakeholders to raise awareness and understanding of the role and scope of SYC’s Tenancy Services and its target cohorts.
- Contributing to the development of and facilitating community information/education sessions.
**About You...**
As someone who has a passion for making a difference to people’s lives, you will build positive and trusting relationships with clients to achieve positive outcomes.
- Strong engagement skills and ability to interact effectively and sensitively with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Experience of engaging and working with people who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness.
- Interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills along with the ability to identify innovative and lateral solutions to problems.
- Time management and organisation skills, able to work both independently and an effective team member, to plan and achieve outcomes and to successfully meet deadlines and KPIs.
- An understanding of SA Housing sector and tenancy and housing legal rights and responsibilities.
**For this role, you will need to**:
- Be willing to complete a Working with Children Check and National Police Check
- Be willing to work on a rotating roster between the span of 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
- Have possession of a current valid Driver’s License, willingness to drive.
