Mechanical Fitters required at our Preston facility. Casual contract with ongoing day and afternoon shifts.

Downer Rail & Transit Systems business has a wide portfolio of projects. RTS leverages the in-house capabilities within Downer to offer integrated solutions covering rollingstock, infrastructure, rail systems, operations and maintenance, as well as system integration.

Our Mechanical Fitters form a key component of the Downer Rail and Transit Reworks team and will be primarily responsible for the modifications of new and refurbished Rollingstock.

**About the role**:
We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters for a long term project that includes tram upgrades, this work would suit a Electrical fitter who has worked in a manufacturing environment, this will be a repetitive process and strip and rebuild.

**Specific desired skills and experience**:
Mechanical fitter trade Certificate required.

Background in manufacturing and/or production desired.

Ability to read plans and schematics and follow agreed work schedules.

Ability to work unsupervised and be a hands-on team player.

Proven ability to organise and prioritise tasks.

Flexible and resourceful.

Strong communication skills.
