**Job Title**: Thematic Expert for Holistic Rural Development

**Location**: West Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya District, India

**About the Organization**: AROH Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to promoting

holistic rural development in the West Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya District. Our mission is to empower

local communities, preserve the environment, and improve the quality of life in rural areas through

sustainable development initiatives.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Thematic Expert to lead our holistic

rural development initiatives in the West Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya District. The Thematic Expert will

play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and evaluating thematic programs focused on

addressing the unique needs and challenges of rural communities in the region.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Thematic Strategy and Planning**:

- Lead the development of thematic strategies and action plans in alignment with the

organization's mission and objectives.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify key issues, trends, and opportunities for

intervention in rural development.

2. **Program Design and Implementation**:

- Design and implement thematic programs aimed at promoting holistic rural

development in areas such as livelihoods, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and

environmental sustainability.
- Work closely with community members, stakeholders, and partners to ensure

programs are responsive to local needs and priorities.

3. **Capacity Building and Training**:

- Identify capacity-building needs within rural communities and develop training

programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and other capacity-building activities to empower

community members and local organizations.

4. **Partnership Development and Networking**:

- Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, academic

institutions, and other stakeholders working in rural development.
- Collaborate with partners to leverage resources, share best practices, and maximize

the impact of thematic programs.

5. **Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning**:

- Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track the progress and impact of

thematic programs.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on program outcomes, challenges, and lessons

learned.
- Use findings to improve program effectiveness, document success stories, and share

learnings with stakeholders.

6. **Advocacy and Policy Influence**:

- Advocate for policies and initiatives that support holistic rural development and

address the needs of marginalized communities.
- Engage with policymakers, legislators, and other stakeholders to raise awareness

and influence decision-making at local, regional, and national levels.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Development Studies, Rural

Development, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, etc.).
- Minimum of 2 Years of experience working in rural development, community

empowerment, or related fields.
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in thematic areas relevant to rural development, such as

livelihoods, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with

diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to the values and mission of AROH Foundation and a passion for rural

development in the West Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya District.
