Parramatta, Australia National Heavy Vehicle Regulator Full time

**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Policy Officer to join our team. You will contribute to making the heavy vehicle industry safer, resulting in fewer road deaths and injuries. You will do this by driving reform of the Performance Based Standards scheme and working with jurisdictions to build stronger partnerships with the NHVR. Your work will underpin productivity enhancements that enable heavy vehicle operators to efficiently reach their destination within existing access constraints.

**About You**

Motivated to contribute to outcomes, you will be an out of the box thinker, who thrives on solving complex policy and technical matters through collaboration. You will have the ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a supportive team environment. The role has a lot on the go at any one point in time, and requires high level problem-solving, creativity, perseverance, as well as solid planning and prioritisation skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. You will need to build rapport and develop strong stakeholder relationships across multiple sources, taking end-to-end responsibility for a body of work.

A background in planning / public policy / economics as well as working knowledge of the heavy vehicle industry and regulatory compliance will be highly regarded.
