Casual Teachers

**About the role**

At Curtin College, you'll teach units at the pre-University, 1st-year, or pre-Master's level units on-campus in Curtin University's newest building in Bentley.

Casual Academic Teachers are responsible for delivering high-quality education programs to a diverse cohort of students. We seek innovative and energetic individuals to lead small classes (usually fewer than 30, often fewer than 20). Responsibilities include teaching in areas of expertise, participating in professional development, developing of teaching materials, actively engaging with learners to ensure learning needs are met, administration duties, and record keeping.

We run the following programs, where after a Diploma, students transition into the 2nd-year of a Curtin University Bachelor's course:

- Diploma of Arts and Creative Industries
- Diploma of Built Environment
- Diploma of Commerce
- Diploma of Engineering
- Diploma of Health Science
- Diploma of Information Technology
- Master's Qualifying Program

**The person we seek will ideally have the following**:

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of innovative approaches to learning and teaching
- Passion for ensuring high-quality student outcomes and proven experience in tailoring delivery for international students
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
- A demonstrated track record of professional development and continuous improvement
- Two years of teaching experience at the College level or equivalent within a higher education environment (we will also consider those with teaching at the Year 11 and Year 12 levels)
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated computer literacy skills relevant to the role, including proficiency with the MS Office Suite and Learning Management System
- Tertiary qualifications at the Bachelor's level or higher in a relevant discipline area

**Desirable**
- Working towards or the completion of formal study in an education/teaching area
- Teaching experience at Curtin University or have graduated from Curtin University
