**The Role**
We are looking for dynamic and motivated person to join our team in Logistics Officer Role within Joint Logistics Unit East, Medical and Dental Equipment Maintenance Section located at Moorebank. You will contribute to the delivery of superior customer service to support Defence logistics.

The Logistics Officer will be responsible for a range of logistics functions including but not limited to, inventory management, administering technical maintenance, logistics assurance, governance, contract management, local systems support. Whilst primarily office based, some work will involve interaction within our warehouse environment.

Within the Logistics Management function, an APS 4 Logistics Officer, once trained, will be accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve moderately complex logistics inventory management work and administration of technical maintenance within an integrated workforce. They will be accountable to have a good understanding of and compliance to relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

An APS 4 Logistics Officer will be accountable for organising their workflow, making decisions within their defined parameters relating to area of responsibility and will seek guidance when required. They will provide administrative support that is informed and directed by their knowledge and existing experience within a Logistics Management function. They may undertake some research and analysis activities and will be expected to have the flexibility to take on unfamiliar tasks.

The APS 4 Logistics Officer will be required to share information, monitor work practices, set work priorities and develop local procedures. They may be required to communicate with, respond and provide advice to a range of stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.

- Knowledge and experience of using office suites (Microsoft office and SAP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to take on responsibility, desire to innovate and adaptability to a constantly shifting problem set.
- Have experience with logistic and maintenance systems.
- Due to this logistic officer work being inside an equipment maintenance section, an applicant with a technical maintenance background would be advantageous.
