**ROLE PURPOSE**:
Due to a recent internal promotion, we are in the market again to recruit for an Inventory Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for planning, directing, managing and delivering of key inventory and optimisation initiatives at operational levels within our National DC.

This critical role will drive common standards and best practices across the DC, lead inventory strategic initiatives and projects, implement policy & drive continuous improvement for all inventory activities across the operation.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Leading the WINC local Inventory team in a safe and process driven manner
- Delivering within the budgeted labour costs of all permanent and casual staff in the warehouse
- Ensuring highest possible service levels are achieved, in line with company expectations.
- Coach, Develop and enable Team members to achieve set goals and targets.
- Actively coordinating change management to drive productivity and cost efficiencies.
- Support (and champion) the DC teams to ensure the highest standards of inventory accuracy and availability are maintained by the DC teams to ensure best support of high DIFOT to customers.
- Assisting the State Logistics Manager to coordinate & implement improvement initiatives.
- Manage the site Cycle Counting Program to ensure all relevant counts are completed on time & in line with Policies & Procedures
- Utilise root cause analysis & industry best practise to drive improvements in Inventory accuracy.
- Achieve accurate & saleable inventory as reflected in the WMS at all times by following correct processes and practises.
- Create a continuous improvement mindset within the Inventory team - identify and quantifying opportunities for improved business practices and systems usage, to drive a step change in service and ROI.
- Implement and maintain a slotting program using available tools to accurately slot all items into the relevant pick areas in accordance with set processes and procedures to increase pick efficiency and decrease replenishment frequencies.

**WHAT WE LOOK FOR**:

- Demonstrated inventory management expertise & capability with a track record of driving inventory improvements in a DC environment (ideally in a high volume, unit-level pick and parcel environment
- Understanding of Inventory Control best practise within a DC
- Knowledge of state legislation for OH&S and Industrial Relations
- Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and projects or initiatives
- Strong self-management, organisation and delegation skills
- Strong understanding of end to end Warehouse & Distribution functions and processes
- Experience with advanced warehouse technology such as Tier 1 WMS & automation
- Proven experience in implementing process improvement and change management
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with many different departments & levels
- Demonstrates excellent analytical and problem solving ability
- Self-starter with an eye for detail and inquisitive nature that can look for patterns and problems
