**About the Role**

The Accounts Receivable Officer (known as Credit Officer) is to actively participate in the process and management of the Accounts Receivable function, to maximise the collection efficiency and minimise overdue and doubtful debts. The person in this role will maintain a customer focus in responding to customer claims and queries on a prompt basis and pro-actively contribute to the day-to-day operations of Account Receivable.

***Role Accountabilities will include but not limited to**:

- Contribute to the documentation and management of appropriate department procedures
- Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities and resolving discrepancies and irregularities.
- Preparation and distribution of invoices, statements, account reconciliations and letters
- Responding to customer queries promptly and courteously and raise credit request where necessary.
- Processing of invoices/credits
- Requesting POD or invoice copies as required
- Uploading Payments daily and completing allocations on assigned ledgers.
- Processing and Driving Incoming cheques to the Bank.
- Processing of Vendor manual F&OB Dockets
- Maintenance of customer records, timely requests to Master Data to ensure all customer details are current.
- Resolution of claims and allocation in a timely manner, keeping Account Managers and Key Stakeholders informed regarding outstanding claims
- Preparing reports to send to our vendors, as well as requesting copies of signed delivery dockets.
- Vendors are an important part of our business, developing a relationship and ensuring all queries are actioned in a timely manner.

**What are we looking for?**

***Someone who has a good understanding of the Accounts Receivable process and has worked in a high-volume role for 3 - 5 years, working in FMCG would be an added advantage. Experience with either Oracle, JDE Edwards or SAP is essential. It goes without saying you will be proficient in MS Office, have good communication and customer service skills.

Add to this your excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines, and generally just be a ‘good person’ to fit in with the other ‘good people’ we have working in our small AR and AP Team.
