Full Job Description

At UNIK we build residential projects ranging from dual occupancy, multi-unit developments, renovations and commercial projects. We have a quick turnaround time from project inception to completion and deliver projects within budget operating to industry standards.

Due to the large projects within our business, we are seeking a qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our friendly team on a full time basis

This is a full-time opportunity for a reliable individual who will become an integral part of UNIK CONSTRUCTIONS.

As a Quantity Surveyor, your primary responsibilities will be
- Obtain quotations from subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and collate them, and assess each for the final decision by management
- Prepare construction cost estimates based on the specifications outlined in the project documents, including drawings, and any additional contract documents provided. This involves carefully reviewing all pertinent information such as materials, labour requirements, equipment needs, and any other relevant details to accurately determine the projected costs associated with the construction project
- Update the project schedule by revising the program to reflect the progress made on various projects. This involves analyzing the actual work completed and adjusting the timeline accordingly to ensure alignment with project milestones and deadlines
- Oversee all phases of active projects to guarantee adherence to the projected baseline cost plan initially estimated. This entails closely monitoring expenses at each stage, identifying any deviations from the forecast, and implementing corrective measures to maintain budgetary alignment.
- Identifying and establishing the scope of changes, evaluating client’s change requests, variations and EOT claims, pricing and negotiations, rate analysis
- Take-off quantities using modern technologies in accordance with standard methods of measurement and preparing bills of quantities
- Maintain project cost data according to updated market rates and prepare of rate analysis for tender evaluation
- Strategically coordinating between contract parties/project stakeholders and the internal project team.
- Taking site measurements combined with the different trades for the various work items
- Preparation of revised project programme based on the actual work done for various projects.

Qualifications & Skills
- Qualified Quantity Surveyor
- Minimum THREE years’ work experience
- Desire to work well in a team
- Attention to detail
- Technical problem solving
- Ability to work independently
- Computer skills advantageous

- 8 hour shift
