Job Description:
The Head of Sales has the primary role of leading the sales team, overseeing the activities of the sales team and monitoring performance. The Head of Sales helps define and communicate the business’s KPIs and targets to the sales team on a regular basis, analyses patterns in consumer and market behavior, and subsequently defines data-driven action strategies to consistently optimize the business’s commercial performance.

The role of Head of Sales requires commercial acumen and a deep understanding of the consumer base, the competitive market, and an ability to analyze sales department performance. The Head of Sales role is an integral part of the business in that it also involves the management of external partners and collaborations with numerous internal departments.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement sales strategies for all brands within the Belkin portfolio, in line with overall company strategy, working with Management Team to achieve company objectives
- Maintain existing customer relationships and cultivate new customer relationships to facilitate delivery of company sales strategy
- Determine, implement/lead optimal sales organization who will deliver company sales strategy, financial targets, and branding compliance
- Lead, motivate and manage to create a highly engaged, productive and results driven sales team
- Maintain collaborative strong working relationships with all other divisions of the business to deliver company and divisional goals
- Assess the competitive landscape and institute changes to the sales program in response to competitors’ changes
- Provide guidance and input on annual budget process working closely with the Finance Team
- Ownership of Sales P&L, driving Net Sales, GP, and OP

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand company business priorities and strategies
- Develop effective sales and marketing strategies for key accounts in conjunction with NAM’s and other internal key stakeholders to achieve sales, GP, and OP targets
- Monthly review of NAM Scorecards. Identify opportunities and challenges within account base and create strategies to maximize sell through, profit, revenue, and market share
- Determine and constantly review optimal sales team structure to deliver sales strategy within agreed budgets. Foster ‘action and accountability’ culture within the sales team
- Provide leadership and direction for sales team
- Build a sales team with a clear and strong succession plan
- Determine optimal compensation plans for sales team
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to develop annual sales plans and budgets
- Set, measure and report against sales team budgets, targets and KPIs
- Carry out periodic performance appraisals for direct reports
- Facilitate regular and constant communication with Product Management to ensure product roadmaps, competitive analysis and product positioning is provided to the sales team
- Facilitate regular consultation with the Demand Planning team to ensure the anticipated demand is fully planned for within the Company’s Inventory Management processes
- Provide sales team clear guidance on acceptable terms of trade with customers. Support terms of trade negotiations in conjunction with Finance
- Identify and contact potential customers for new business opportunities
- Manage and build Customer Relationships at an executive level, empowering the sales team with the responsibility of managing relationships on an operational basis
- Communication internally and externally, both written and verbal mediums is to be of a high professional standard with all documentation complying with the Belkin branding standard
- Ability to recruit, develop and retain a world class sales team through mentoring, coaching and positive reinforcement
- Understand, communicate, and uphold Belkin’s company values always as reflected in the Employee Handbook
- Conduct self in professional and courteous manner
- Take full responsibility for individual and team actions
- Understand and follow company rules and regulations
- Perform all other duties as assigned and required
- Dress accordingly and appropriately that benefits a corporate environment and maintains the professional reputation of Belkin
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Liaise with and assist other departments as required.
- Appropriately use all Belkin tools, systems and processes as required.
- Attend company training sessions or meetings as required.
