**Support young women who are pregnant or parenting in 24/7 accommodation and outreach program. Based in Morphett Vale and Blair Athol.**

**The Role**

In line with the Young Family Support Program service model and approved Case Management Guidelines the Family Support Worker provides case work and support to young pregnant and/or parenting women and their children utilising a range of skills to assist young women to develop independent living skills, increase their mental health and well-being and support positive relationship/family dynamics. Young women are supported to have good attachment relationships with their children and workers are aware of the impact of homelessness and trauma on the health and development of children.

**What you need to bring**

**Essential**
- Certificate III in Community Services or equivalent
- Knowledge of child development and child-parent attachment
- Knowledge of the impacts of homelessness on young women and their children
- An understanding of the impact of childhood trauma, attachment theory and adolescent development
- Proficient in computer use and ability to learn and use databases
- Must be willing and available to work evenings, weekends and overnights and have flexibility to work a 24/7 roster across all of the YFSP sites as required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have First Aid and CPR certificate
- Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check (previously known as ‘Child-Related Employment Screening Clearance’).
- Valid Australian Drivers Licence

**Desirable**
- Certificate IV in Community Services
- Experience in using H2H data collection system
- Experience in a similar role
