**About the Role**

Due to an internal restructuring of the People and Culture function, the General Manager Employee and Industrial Relations role has been created. The role will aim to integrate Industrial Relations and the P&C Business Partners in a more coordinated manner and provide strategic and operational support throughout WMQ.

As the General Manager, Employee and Industrial Relations, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality HR/IR consultancy advice, support, and guidance to achieve people-focused solutions aligned with the WMQ business needs. Reporting to the Director People and Culture, your responsibilities will include overseeing operational excellence, strategic leadership, team leadership, and governance, risk, and compliance. You will lead negotiations of Enterprise Agreements, represent WMQ in conciliation matters with statutory bodies, provide coaching to the leadership team, and manage complex people issues, including performance management, dispute resolution, and restructuring. You will provide support and coaching to a team of highly skilled HR Business partners, fostering a culture of inclusiveness and engagement.

**About You**

You are a suitably experienced professional with Employee Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) experience in a senior HR managerial role. You have demonstrable skills leading small to medium sized teams of HR Business Partners and Advisors. You hold relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Human Resources, or a related discipline. You have a proven track record of leading negotiations for Enterprise Agreements and engaging with multiple unions/employee advocates. To ensure you hit the ground running it’s expected that you will have gained experience working in large multifaceted organisation’s within healthcare, disability and/or community service to ensure you’ve had exposure to relevant environments and understanding of the associated awards. You demonstrate strong decision-making abilities, excellent communication skills, and commercial acumen. You have demonstrable experience in building capability and presence of your own teams and fostering a continuous improvement and innovative mind set to problem solving and driving outcomes. We are seeking an engaging and energetic individual with the presence and carriage to build credibility and confidence with both internal and external stakeholders and industry bodies.
