We are a modern dental family practice with a great and experienced team providing excellent work environment. We are looking for an experienced **Dental Assistant **ideally with certificate 3.
The Dental Assistant is responsible to work closely with the dentist, providing chair side assistance and sterilization duties in the surgery.
Your accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- To adhere to Dental Board of Australia codes and Guidelines
- Proficient within many different aspects of Dental Nursing including clinical technical services such as sterilization duties (including barcode printing) and providing advice on oral care
- Sound clinical dental skills and practice
- **Dental Assistant experience in Australia is mandatory**:
- Manage own clinical workload effectively (within single theatre, paired and /or multiple areas), ensuring care is prioritised appropriately
- Accurately assimilate and interpret clinical information about the patients’ condition, instigate appropriate remedial action and promptly report changes to the pertinent health care professional or surgeon
- Ensure that accurate and legible records and information systems are maintained and that own computer skills to enable electronic data collection are up to date.
- To maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the clinical area and implement remedial action as appropriate
- Knowledge of routine dental procedures
- Provide pre and post operative advice to patients
- Able to anticipate what instruments will be required during a procedure
- Provide evidence of applicable immunization status as required as per Dental/Health board regulations
- Follow practice philosophy, policies, and Australian Dental Association’s Infection Control Policy.
- Actively participate in the Australian Dental Association Accreditation Procedure.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of staff and patient records.
- Establishes and develops effective channels of communication with all disciplines of staff, and patients and be able to give and receive complex and / or sensitive information.
- To lead on monitoring of stock levels of clinical stores and technical equipment relating to specialist field of practice, ensuring constant availability and inform receptionist to ordering of items within budget
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to adapt to different environments
- Flexible and reliable
- Must have unrestricted work rights in Australia.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
