We are looking for a skilled Criminal Lawyer specialising in Contested Hearings to join our highly motivated team in providing a high standard of private legal services to the community. Our boutique law firm is well known in the Criminal Law industry and provides the oppurtunity to work alongside an ex magistrate, prosecutor and police officer in which creates an exciting learning enviornment.

**Skills and Experience**
- LLB or JD Qualification in Victoria
- Practical Legal Training qualification in Victoria
- 3 years P.A.E minimum
- Experience in Contest Hearing matters - ex prosecutors favourable
- Strong in-court advocacy and communication skills
- Ability to manage a large number of client files
- Experience using LEAP Legal Software for billing, time entries and file noting

**Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Main focus will be on Contested Hearings matters but will also be managing additional allocated matetrs whetehr they be pleas or contests
- Attending to client matters and obtaining instructions, following up and preparing documentations for legal matters.
- Communicating with outside agencies such as Police, Courts and Health Services on behalf of the client
- Managing own billable hours and completing entries into LEAP Legal Software
- Filing relevant documents with the Courts
- Attend and participate in regular in-house meetings in relation to progress of matters and client management
- Drafting and Finalising letters to clients and Courts
- Uploading and file noting all documents and Legal Services provided into LEAP for invoicing and auditing purposes
- Attend Court Hearings across all of Victoria, including multiple hearings per day
- Whilst also having the ability to work in a team, you will also be required to be autonomous in your work and be proactive with your files and clients to ensure they are kept up to date weeks before their Court appearances

**Salary**: From $120,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus
- Performance bonus

- St Kilda VIC: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
