**About the role**

The Outpatients Orthopaedic Plaster Technician is responsible for encasement, modification, repair and removal of casters, splints and cast bracing and for the training of staff in same.

The Outpatient Orthopaedic Plaster Technician will function as part of a multi-disciplinary team mainly functioning from the outpatient department but may be required to do consults within the inpatient and allied health care setting.

The incumbent must be able to also function autonomously within a fast past environment with a high standard of patient care delivery and communication skills. Previous experience is essential for this role as the incumbent needs to be able to run and manage orthopaedic and plastics clinics independently as well as in line with working as part of the MD team.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- Working with Children Check
- Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
