**The Opportunity**

We have an opportunity for an Incident Controller to be part of our Biosecurity Division within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

The primary purpose of the role is to support the General Manager, Fruit Fly Emergency Response Program in management of activities relating to the Fruit Fly Emergency Response Program (the Program). The Incident Controller will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Program activities to ensure efficient and effective operating procedures are followed.

The role contributes delivering the agency’s priorities including:

- The effective management of risk and recovery to ensure primary industries and regional communities are supported to manage risk, respond and recover quickly from adverse events that impact economic growth and community wellbeing.

The role contributes to the Fruit Fly Emergency Response Program in supporting the management of the potential risks to South Australia from fruit flies relating to horticulture industries. Together with the General Manager the role works with stakeholders to develop and implement policies, legislation, regulatory frameworks and undertake surveillance, preparedness and response programs to underpin access to markets and protect the economy, environment and regional and metropolitan communities.

- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment
- Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).

**Requirements**:

- Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
- Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel will be required.
- Valid/Current national Police Check
- You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations
- Introduction to AIIMS training (Australian Interservice Incident Management System)
- Manage Operations for a Level 2 incident
- Certificate IV in Public Safety (Biosecurity Response Leadership)
