**About Us**:
At Mitchelton Special School we provide educational programs for students aged between 3 and 18. All students who attend our school have been diagnosed with an Intellectual Disability and many have also been diagnosed with additional disabilities such as Autism, Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment and/or Physical Impairment.

Our teaching and learning standards are excellent, and we are committed to providing differentiated, age-appropriate motivating learning opportunities for all of our students. We use a variety of pedagogies to assist our students to reach their learning goals such as Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), Community Based Learning (CBL) and Explicit Teaching.
**About the Role**:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Develop a curriculum framework in alignment with Australian Curriculum V9 focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Build the capacity of all educators in the effective, inclusive and robust delivery of the Australian Curriculum to improve learning outcomes for all students.
- Engage staff in intentional collaboration around the rigorous development and implementation of the Australian Curriculum V9.
- Lead the effective and consistent implementation of high-yield reading pedagogies across the school, inclusive of, but not limited to, coaching, modelling, co-teaching, observing practice and providing feedback and support.
- Support teachers with Intensive, individualised instruction in a highly structured and specialised manner for KLA's taking in to consideration Individual curriculum plans (ICP - DYL-P), ICP - Highly individualised curriculum plan (HICP) and Personalised learning plans (PLP).
The successful applicant will have a thorough understanding of the Australian Curriculum and the effective use of data to inform teaching and learning.

- Capacity to use strategic thinking and analytical skills to contribute to teachers understanding of teaching strategies and research based pedagogical practices associated with Individual curriculum plans (ICP - DYL-P) and ICP - Highly individualised curriculum plans (HICP).
