**Position Descriptor**:
SAASTA Coordinators provide the key link between SAASTA central office and academy sties and as such is expected to undertake the following duties on behalf of the South Australian Aboriginal Sports Training Academy in conjunction with the Parafield Gardens High School:

- Provide guidance to the Principal and SAASTA Manager on all matters relating to the relationship between the host school, the academy and the community, participate in meetings that facilitate the objective(s) of the host school and the academy, attend training and development sessions as required in line with academy business/activity and act as a direct point of contact for the academy and to provide reports as required.
- Liaise with whole school personnel to ensure that matters relating to school and academy activities are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide effective leadership of engagement and learning for Aboriginal Education students across PGHS by:

- Developing and implementing personalised learning plans for all Aboriginal students in accordance with Department for Education expectations
- Developing intervention structures to support student learning improvement through the use of collected data, with a particular focus on Literacy, Numeracy, Attendance and SACE completion.
- Lead, coordinate and support NAIDOC Week, Reconciliation week and cultural events to share Aboriginal cultural perspectives in accordance with the DfE Aboriginal Strategy 2018-24
- Work with staff across the school to increase awareness and support implementation of Aboriginal perspectives within the curriculum.
