**Role Details**: The Instructional Designer is a role within People and Performance and is accountable to the Principal Consultant, Learning and Professional Development for:

- Scoping, planning, designing and evaluating compelling non-accredited learning and professional development programs that embed contemporary instructional design theories and techniques and utilise multimedia tools to enhance the learning process supporting staff operating in a complex and demanding work environment.
- Mentoring, coaching and providing instructional design coaching, advisory services and solutions to a range of departmental staff that will further improve the culture, capability and performance of the department.

Key outcomes and accountabilities:
3. Design, create, test and publish e-learning modules including engaging audio, video, simulations, role plays and games that embed contemporary instructional design theories and meet learning needs at the organisational and learner level.

4. Create and maintain learning and professional development programs that meet requirements including those under the NDIS Practice Standards and deliverables within the Youth Justice State Plan.

5. Provide instructional design coaching, advisory services and solutions to a range of departmental staff that will further improve the culture, capability and performance of the department.

6. Contribute to the identification and development of engaging and flexible learning methods, strategies and learning resources for the delivery of educational programs to staff, taking account of geographic disparity and system constraints.

Note: Any other responsibilities in line with the classification level of the role as assigned by Line Manager and/or the Department. The responsibilities as specified above may be altered in accordance with the changing requirements of the role.

Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.

Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).

Essential Qualifications:
Workplace Training and Assessor qualification (Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or Diploma of Training Design and Development) or proven industry experience.
