A popular Australian retailer of clothing and household linens.

**The Role**
Reporting into the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager role is responsible for building and maintaining a Customer First and sales focused culture through effective team leadership and financial management.

**Your role will include (but not be limited to)**:

- Ensure the team and culture is Customer First focused
- Develop and maintain a high performing and engaged team
- Assist manager with performance management issues
- Identify initiatives to drive local sales in conjunction with the Store Manager
- Develop and demonstrate an awareness of competitor activity
- Assist the Store Manager analyse financial performance performance and develop action plans
- Assist in managing controllable expenses to budget
- Report on exceptions to budget
- Ensure visual merchandising, store layout and point of sale standards are maintained
- Monitor and minimise internal and external shrinkage
- Assist in managing stocktakes
- Loss prevention via customer service, not apprehension

**To be suitable for this role you must have the following**:
**Experience & Qualifications**
- 2 years + in a similar volume retail role
- Management, Retail Management or other relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded

- A strong sales focus with a drive to succeed
- Attention to detail and the ability to plan and organise
- A Customer First approach
- The ability to lead and develop teams
- Display a positive outlook, be warm and approachable
- Excellent communication skills
