About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Ministry Assistant - Families & Young Adults to develop, implement, and oversee existing and new community and church-based ministry activities for children, families and youth as well as developing Young Adult ministries.
Reporting to the Corps Officer, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Tuggeranong, ACT. Salary and conditions are in accordance with Hay Level 12 (Award Free).
You will successfully- Partner with the Corps Officer in the delivery of the mission of the Tuggeranong Corps through the development and facilitation of ministry and pastoral care, in an integrated setting to the wider Corps.- Be involved in ministry leadership, worship, and sermon delivery at the Corps.- When required, support the organisation of pastoral visitation, team meetings, and events.- Engage in discipleship development and activities, along with connect groups as agreed with the Corps Officer.- Recruit, train and effectively engage volunteers to support children, youth, and family activities.- Communicate events, activities, and opportunities through the Corps newsletter, website, and social media.- Provide client-centred support to community members and their families by providing referral pathways to internal expressions, programs, and external community-based programs.- Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with relevant community groups and organisations.- Monitor programs to ensure they operate within agreed budgets.
You will have- A current and valid ACT Working with Vulnerable Person’s check.- Current NSW/ ACT Drivers Licence.- A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army.- The ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer, and to explain the Christian Gospel.- Experience in a Ministry position (desirable) and a passion for ministry to the next generation.- Qualifications/ training in Family, Youth or Children’s related ministries or evidence of significant relevant experience.- Good communication skills including the ability to speak publicly.- Capacity to facilitate groups and one-to-one with a particular focus e.g., faith-based groups.- Solid level of computer literacy including social media and websites.
