**About us**

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as a national entity responsible for regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. Located in Brisbane, the NHVR minimises the compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistencies across state and territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.

**About the role**

Data and Technology have 4 departments and this position will have oversight across the areas to provide project support as needed. The role will be responsible for providing support in the delivery of technology projects in the form of coordinating timelines and delivery plans.

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
- Proactively contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of strategic, technical and operational policy, standards and guidelines relevant to Data and Technology project being delivered.
- Support the Director in satisfying their reporting requirements to the SLT and Chief Data and Technology officer in a timely manner
- Track and coordinate responses to stakeholder questions, issues and risks as well as assisting project team members to develop risk mitigation plans
- Assist in the preparation of briefing material and other relevant advice and documentation for the NHVR Executive, steering committees and ministerial councils.
- Identify and report risks and issues on a timely basis and work with appropriate parties to create actions / solutions.
- Ensure a coordinated approach is achieved and communicated between all key stakeholders and suppliers, including ensuring any legislative amendments are understood in achieving operational policy outcomes.
- Build and maintain professional networks and effective relationships, including delivering exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Comply with WH&S policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and healthy work environment.

**About You**
- Demonstrated ability to plan and manage projects or tasks, to achieve specific objectives and deliver expected outcomes, in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
- Demonstrated success in facilitating, managing and guiding committees and project teams (including contracted, in-kind or internal resources) in delivering outcomes within a complex commercial and client-oriented environment
- Proven ability in technical writing and document formatting
- Ability to work to time and budget independently and within a team
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate matters to achieve desired outcomes with internal and external stakeholders at local, state and national levels.
- Demonstrated strong written communication skills including the ability to clearly and concisely articulate complex issues and risks in high level documentation including reports, briefings, business cases and service level agreements.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team of people to provide consistent, responsive and high quality advice and project support

**Highly Regarded**:

- Experience and prior working knowledge of the heavy vehicle industry and Regulatory Compliance.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or demonstrable professional experience (e.g. IT, Business)
- Experience with business case development, planning and negotiating service level agreements and contract management.
- Experience in a project environment with demonstrated knowledge in project scheduling, planning and reporting.
