Communications Specialist, Marketing

**About Australasian Medical and Scientific Ltd./New Zealand Medical & Scientific, Dexcom Companies.**

Working in the Medical Devices Industry, you will be part of our Marketing Services Team, working on our Diabetes Range including the Tandem Diabetes Care t:slim X2 insulin pump and Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems. Working in this space will allow you to be a part of a range of products that have life-changing effects on people with diabetes quality of life.
- This role is based in _**_Sydney, Chatswood West Office, Australia. _**This is a hybrid role where you can work remote 3 days and 2 days in our office.

**Description of Role**

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans and strategies to enhance brand awareness and promote organisational goals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels
- Create regular reporting, monitor and analyse communication activities to assess effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for improvement
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and stakeholders, key organisations to secure coverage and partnerships
- Assist in crisis communication management, including drafting statements and coordinating responses with our PR agency
- Help our social media lead to manage the organisation's social media presence and develop strategies to increase engagement and followers
- Coordinate and organise events, such as press conferences, product launches, and community outreach programs, Dexcom warrior events etc.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in communication and marketing
- Liaise with advertising companies to prepare detail aids, leaflets, posters and other materials as required alongside our graphic designers
- Distribution of materials to healthcare professionals and consumers through appropriate mediums
- Collect and analyse target audience behaviour data to assist in new strategies to implement across brands
- Manage all company PR activities and external PR agency activities
- Liaise and work closely with different cross-functional areas within the company and global teams to ensure all communications, PR and social media activities are managed and approved; including not limited to regulatory, education, market access, management, global teams, legal etc.
- Manage all sponsorships as required for AMSL Diabetes and work closely with regulatory/legal/medical approvers
- Manage the Dexcom Warrior program and implement new strategies alongside Marketing Management Team to actively engage new Dexcom Warriors to help raise awareness of diabetes and product range
- Implement and suggest new social media trends and initiatives alongside the Marketing Management Team
- E nsure that all communication distributed is compliant and that every detail about the product is correct and meets the requirements of the company and regulatory bodies in the industry. This includes but is not limited to:

- Branding guidelines
- Industry codes of conduct: MTAA, MTANZ etc.
- Relevant laws and legislation: TGA, ACC, Medsafe, Spam acts etc.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or a related field
- Proven experience working as a Communications Specialist or in a similar role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail
- Strong storytelling and content creation and optimisation abilities
- Proficient in using various communication tools and platforms
- Solid understanding of social media platforms and their use for brand promotion
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Experience in crisis communication and reputation management is a plus
- Knowledge of SEO principles is looked upon favourably

**Experience and Education**:

- Typically requires a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 2-5 years of related experience.
