**Position Information**:
Ermington Public School is an innovative, dynamic school inspiring all students to be Engaged, Proud and Successful. The school is situated in West Ryde within the Ryde Network of schools and has an enrolment of 450 students, inclusive of two opportunity classes which cater for high potential and gifted students. The school consists of a diverse student population which includes 71% of students from a language background other than English, a small number of students from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and students with varying academic and social emotional needs.

Ermington Public school is staffed by teachers who pride themselves on the ability to utilise current trends, research and evidence-based practice to form the basis of teaching and learning programs. The school provides a variety of extra-curricular programs including sporting and performing arts to engage all learners. Relationships between students, teachers and the community are positive and respectful.

Ermington Public School is looking for an exemplary educator and leader to join our dedicated staff as a 0.6 Assistant Principal.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary combined with the potential to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complexities of the leadership aspects of an Assistant Principal.

Demonstrated skill to lead teams with the ability to inspire and mentor others to create a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and high expectations, using data driven practices and evidence-based pedagogy to ensure growth for every child.

An open, approachable leader with outstanding organisation, communication and interpersonal skills who empowers staff and builds positive, authentic relationships with students, staff and the community.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
