**About the role**
- UGL are currently seeking a suitably qualified **HSE Advisor** to join our established site based team in Pinjarra, WA. This role will commence in June 2024, on a fulltime permanent basis for a professional with extensive HSE experience. You will work a 5/2 roster, you will ideally reside within the Shire of Murray in the Peel region of WA, just east of the Pinjarra town site.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- 1. Implement comprehensive HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to the project.
- 2. Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- 3. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate HSE requirements into project plans and activities.
- 4. Provide HSE training and induction programs for project personnel, emphasizing the importance of safe work practices.
- 5. Monitor and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal HSE regulations and standards.
- 6. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
- 7. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure alignment with HSE standards and expectations.
- 8. Foster a culture of safety consciousness and environmental responsibility among all project team members.

**Qualifications**:

- 1. Diploma or Bachelor in Work Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent, Environmental Management, or a related field (desirable)
- 2. Basic First Aid qualifications
- 3. Drug and Alcohol Testing - HLTPAT005
- 4. ICAM Lead incident Investigation training
- 5. Lead Auditor training - ISO 45001

6. Professional knowledge of relevant OHS laws and regulations
- 7. Certificate IV - Training and Assessment (preferred)
- 8. Proven experience as a HSE Advisor in a heavy industry, particularly in a refinery environment.

9. Knowledge of local and international HSE regulations and standards.
- 10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to conduct effective training sessions and toolbox talks.
