**Clinical Deans, multiple part-time positions, Adelaide Medical School**

**Academic Level E $193,308 pro-rata per annum, plus clinical loading if criteria met and an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.**

**3 x 5-year, fixed term, part time positions between 0.4 FTE and 0.8 FTE to be based within Central Adelaide, Northern Adelaide and the Women’s and Children’s Health Network

The Clinical Dean holds a key leadership position within the Adelaide Medical School, and design and delivery of the Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Medical Studies/ Doctor of Medicine (BMD) programs. It is anticipated that the Clinical Dean will be co-appointed to senior clinical role at a Local Health Network.

Responsible for overseeing clinical education and training of students at one of the University of Adelaide’s affiliated Local Health Networks (LHNs), the Clinical Dean will be crucial in coordinating and integrating relevant clinical teaching sites into the programs, serving as a local ambassador for the university and fostering engagement with the local clinical community.

The Clinical Dean will also play a vital role in realising the potential for postgraduate programs in the clinical space and increase the University presence in the LHN to promote collaborative research with the health sector and increase the University's productivity in that field.

This position works closely with the Dean of Medicine, the Director of Medical Education, Medical Program Coordinators and clinical and administrative staff based at the associated hospital and the Adelaide Medical School.

**To be successful you will need**:

- To be co-appointed to a senior (consultant) clinical role at a LHN.
- Relevant experience in clinical education/training of medical students in teaching hospitals.
- Specialist medical qualification and registration with AHPRA enabling clinical practice.
- Demonstrated understanding of the needs of medical students, including international students.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with senior and junior medical staff and other health professionals in hospitals and the community, the University and wider community.
- Passionate and unequivocal commitment to excellence in research and education and the demonstrated capacity to lead and motivate others.
- Strong communication and persuasion skills leading to proven favourable outcomes.
- Commitment to the principles of collegiality and to equity and diversity.
- Exemplary personal qualities of integrity, energy, tenacity and judgement
