**About the Client**
Our client is a growing mining company focused on growth via exploration, mergers and acquisitions coupled with operational excellence. Guided by values of Safety, Responsibility, Delivery and Transparency.

**About the Role**
Our client is seeking an Environmental lead to head up the primary and secondary approvals and permitting scope of works for their new mine and expansion project.

The role will report directly to the project manager with key duties and responsibilities being:

- Collaboration with cross function project and site operational teams to integrate environmental considerations for successful project planning, delivery and operational integration.
- Organisation and coordination of environmental monitoring programs.
- Provision of environmental design considerations for mining and infrastructure design.
- Management of heritage clearing, monitoring and compliance
- Oversight of contractor environmental performance
- Oversight of waste management and chemical management
- Coordination of water modelling and wet season planning
- Leading of stakeholder management and engagement for the project.

This role is to be offered on a flexible work basis with travel to site as required.

**About You**
- Bachelor of postgraduate qualifications in Environmental Science or Civil Engineering
- 5+ years environmental experience on mining or civil projects
- Demonstrated experience in delivering approvals for mining projects in Queensland
- Knowledge of Queensland environmental legislation and regulatory bodies.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate with internal and external stakeholders
