Store person / Warehouse Manager

$65k - 70k + super

Inner west, Sydney

Our client is a leading provider of engineering solutions, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Store Person to join our team. The Store Person/Warehouse manager will play a crucial role in managing inventory, receiving shipments, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the efficient operation of our workshop and store. This position is vital in meeting customer demands while upholding a clean and organized work environment. The role also offers the opportunity to transition into a Technical Buyer position during busy seasonal periods.

**About your new role**:

- Manage high-value and specialty items, allocate them to jobs, coordinate repairs, and track equipment locations.
- Oversee all PPE stock, create orders, and monitor supply levels.
- Ensure an adequate supply of workshop consumables and manage site stock requirements.
- Participate in cycle counting, stock take, and associated administrative tasks.
- Arrange electrical test and tag, manage dock deliveries, and handle equipment pickups and deliveries.
- Price and purchase required consumables and equipment to support business needs.
- Receive incoming shipments, verify accuracy, and organize products in designated areas.
- Maintain inventory levels and assist in inventory control processes.
- Assist customers with product inquiries and provide excellent service.

**Purchasing Management**:

- Source and engage reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Approve purchase orders, organize and confirm delivery of goods and services.
- Control procurement budget and promote a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
- Oversee and manage IT systems tracking shipments, inventory, and supply of goods.

**About you**:

- Proven experience in store management and purchasing.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and familiarity with standard operating procedures and HSEQ principles.
- Ability to work well in a team and a proactive approach towards teamwork.
- Proficient in using IT systems for tracking shipments, inventory, and procurement activities.
