Are you a problem solving pro with an eye for detail and exceptional customer service skills? We are looking for a talented Rates Recovery Officer to join our team on a temporary basis with our local government client. This role involves monitoring, interviewing and advising on arrears matters, with the opportunity to make a real impact on the community.
- Conduct thorough interviews and provide valuable advice to Ratepayers regarding arrears.
- Action accounts in arrears and implement 'arrangement to pay' plans in line with Council Policy.
- Maintain accurate records, attend to inquiries and advise on difficult accounts to ensure efficient recoveries.

**Preferred Requirements**:

- Experience in statutory or commercial revenue collection authority.
- Knowledge of Council policies and relevant procedural legislation.
- Proficiency in working with corporate database programs and strong time management skills.
- Demonstrated numerical proficiency and exceptional communication abilities.
- Ability to maintain excellent customer relations and make sound decisions within allocated responsibilities.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Minimum educational standards associated with Queensland Grade 12 and/or commercial training supplemented by work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge or acquisition of knowledge of legislation procedures relating to rate levy and recovery of debts.
- Experience with computer systems and corporate databases.
