At Peabody we’re proud to produce coal that plays an essential role in not only powering the world but in building the worlds infrastructure. The premium metallurgical coal from Centurion is a key component in steelmaking vital for infrastructure development.

We’re committed to reviving this world-class operation, with development coal production targeted for early 2024 and longwall coal production expected in 2026.

**About the role**:
**Reporting to the Outbye Mechanical Coordinator **the scope of your new role will be include.
- Carry out personal risk assessment, hazard identification and other safety requirements relevant to the role
- Work to “Best Practice” techniques to ensure that equipment is maintained to a high safety, productive and reliable standard
- Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
- Participate in site continuous improvement initiatives.

**The lifestyle**:
This position is offered on a 7:7 day/night roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah) DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.

**About you**:

- Trade qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years in underground coal mining
- Ability to work effectively in a team, coupled with strong communication skills
- Operation of underground equipment as required.
- A demonstrated commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively in a team are key requirements of the role.
- Commitment to high performance standards.

In addition to the above, you will have a genuine commitment to safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of risk and hazard identification. You will be an exceptional team member with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic.
