**Full Time, Fixed Term position up to 5 years.**

The Biopharmaceutical Materials and Devices Lab (BMDL) is seeking a motivated and pragmatic Laboratory Manager to lead and oversee the day to day operations of the BMDL.

**To be successful you will need**:

- Experience in laboratory operations/management and instrumentation in PC2/OGTR facilities.
- Knowledge of legislative requirements and operating procedures of PC2 laboratory operations such as waste disposal, labelling, risk assessments and incident reporting, storage and tracking of high-risk materials.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in laboratory operations/management and instrumentation in PC2/OGTR facilities, including Biosafety and Biohazard management, using a range of equipment, including Biosafety hood, autoclave, PCR machine, SDS-PAGE, DLS, Chromatography, Fluorescence Microscopy, flow cytometry, etc..
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in cell culture, bacterial culture.
- Demonstrated experience in the installation, operation, problem solving of relative equipment within PC2 laboratories, in managing risk and work, health and safety standards in a laboratory environment to meet compliance to self-insured status.
- Demonstrated knowledge of technical services and principles associated with achieving customer focused outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.

**Qualifications**:

- A PhD degree with subsequent relevant experience working within a PC2 lab.
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and / or education / training.
